Sweet and Low

“I’m a bit of a groupie.” ~ Jerry Hall

No, it has nothing to do with that saccharin, dextrose, cream of tartar stuff (well, maybe *a little* saccharin…).

It’s a song, “Sweet and Low” by Augustana, and it’s the kind of thing that makes me understand videos from the 60s that depict herds of mindless young girls screaming and chasing cars trying to spirit away boys that play guitar. As well as the all-out produced studio version:

There is something in my groupie girl DNA that renders me an absolute sucker for this stuff. It’s physical, chemical, an utter disadvantage…and responsible for way too much of my high school and college “dating” experiences.
