Truth About Advertising

Watching this, it’s easy to blame advertisers for the obvious truth here, but before pointing that finger, I had to ask myself: why would this sort of advertising work? Why do we, as women, allow our insecurities and fears of inadequacy to be the selling point that billion dollar industries can build their sandcastles on?
To that end, why do men allow the smirking veneer of covering up their “am I really a macho enough man” inner ape voice to be the mark set for themselves as well?
I wonder if advertisements are a lot like governments: we get what we deserve.
